[FOOD TRIP ADVENTURES] Dinner at 1CHIBAN EXPRESS REVIEW

We decided to have to dinner over at 1CHIBAN EXPRESS today, we drive through Mc Arthur Highway from Lazatin Road. The restaurant is beside Matutina's on KINGSPIRE business center along the right side of the road if your going to Angeles City from San Fernando driving along Mc Arthur highway.

Just to be sure here's a google map image for you if you feel lost along the highway! :)

Here is the look outside of the ICHIBAN EXPRESS ( or 1CHIBAN really don't know what's the original but if am not mistaken ICHI means 1 in Nihongo [ nihongo = japanese language ] so I think its kinda ok)  in case you got lost and wondering what it looks like (this is actually my first time eating here too so its cool!). Just below the image is the inside view from table we sit in.

Now time to order! From their menu there's actually a lot of cheap prices for a meal you don't usually see with that kind of price from other food chains. So here have a look yourself of their menu, because I really did take the liberty of taking pictures.

From the cashier looking at the menu displayed you can already see two sets of cuisine, there is Japanese and the other one is Chinese.

Now look at the price carefully, try to look at the goods and its' corresponding price. To others who looks for cheap food that belongs to either Japanese or Chinese cuisine, and some who wants to eat them both at the same time this place is for YOU! or should I say US!

Bring in a budget of P100 - P200 peso for a Chinese or Japanese rice meal, sushi, dimsum, soup, desert or even drinks this place may become one of your favorite dine-in place!

After a few  minutes of thinking which food to eat on their menu, my Mom finally decided to JUST order a Kani Salad which is owrth around P120 peso which I'll tell you it's really WORTH IT! for it's humongous serving! also she add up some Gyoza which I think she just happen to "want to try and taste it" habit whenever we are eating somewhere new. The five piece gyoza was worth P100.

Then the next order was my Beef Curry which is worth a P150, and very worth it for me too, due to its' soft juicy beef and flavor full curry sauce over the rice made me satisfied for my dinner. Also there was a 4 piece Chicken Feet serving that my Dad ordered that we really did enjoy, It is worth P70 pesos and looks a good score for me dealing with the taste I'd give it a 7/10 for a chicken feet.

Wondering how the meals look like? Don't you guys worry I've taken a few snaps of 'em!

Each meal is served with a soup ( I really didn't get from what kind of soup meal it came from but from what I understand its a "soup" and it's free). We also ordered a pot of hot tea which is worth P50 pesos we emptied the Pot for all three of us and just asked the management to just fill the Pot with another hot water because the tea leaves inside is still usable.

The Kani Salad is dressed with Japanese Salad Dressing (or so I think that is what it is called). It was the first one to come to our table followed by the Chicken feet and the beef curry together with the hot tea and the soup!

The last order to arrive was the Gyoza which I think come on 3 or 4 minutes after the last order was served.

You will be served with chopsticks and can also request for spoon and fork if you do not know how to use a pair (and from my experience it really is hard to eat a rice meal with chopsticks specially if you're not used to it).

There were supposed to be five chunky Gyoza in there but by the time I picked up the camera the first one was already in her mouth so I was like, oh well might as well take the picture of what remains.

After a few minutes of eating everything up of the tasty, deliciously cheap food, I did say my "Gochisousama!!!" and be done with it. I took off and try to take a few snaps of the "lucky money cat" display at their front entrance, after a few shots we got out and went home full and ready to take the good nights rest.

ICHIBAN EXPRESS is open from 10AM to 10PM in the evening at least that's what I saw from their opening and closing hours.

If I am not mistaken there are also lot of ICHIBAN food chains around the Philippines I just haven't been to some of them, and this was the first time I have ate and dine with the restaurant. From the branch that we ate from I'd say they gave us a good service and food so I'll give them a 8/10 for the service and 9/10 for the food!!!

aaaand here is the cute lucky white CAT!!!

So for the update, I decided to merge all of the photos from my previous post (click here) to create a "silent" comic strip.

Leaving only one particular photo for the "Tsuzuku" or "To Be Continue" panel.

I'm kinda suck or rather lazy on making a dialogue script...  </3

[HOW TO- TORIALS] Create your own Business / Call Card in PHOTOSHOP in 5 quick and easy steps

Here comes the quick and easy steps on how to create your own business/ call card for your own company, other people or just for your self.

These steps are made assuming you already have created your own Logo or Name for your own Company or group (Note* the numbers and address that I've used are all made up).

STEP 1: On your Photoshop (either what CS it is 4 5 or 6) click on the File Menu and click on New

STEP 2:  You will be prompted with a New screen which will ask you the width, height resolution. The common size for a call / business card is around 3.5 inches x 2 inches (width or height depends if you want it on a portrait or landscape look). Then make sure that you change the resolution to 300 or higher but I'd really suggest to make it 300 just to be safe (this is for printing purposes).

STEP 3: Place your ready made, downloaded or custom designed Logo by clicking on File and click  Place. After that you will be prompted to screen where you will have to browse your logo either in .jpg or .png (or any image format your Photoshop likes to read). But this time I'd really suggest you design and pick a logo under a .png format. Select the image and click on the Place button.

STEP 4: Place your logo depending on what position or layout you are following (most people look for a reference material in making designs and layout, means they just use some template and make use of its layout for their cards). Place your logo on a position it is readable, easy to read or see and make sure it has chemistry and balance when all the details you want when it is mixed with all the elements of your business card (like how the fonts look like, how the fonts interact or looks good with the logo, the position of both the logo and text).

The elements that you must not forget inside your card is your address, contact number, email address (if any), your website (if any), your name, position on the company, group, or organization, and your services or what you are offering.

STEP 5 Finally Save your work either as .jpg or .pdf and print your work on a quality printer and cut it down to a size if you have the cutting board to that cuts exactly the size of a standard call card or make sure to put some red or bleed lines on the side of your design or layout before printing so you will know where to cut when you print. you can always save your work and ask someone who knows how to print this kind of stuff.

Here is my sample output when I tried printing on a bond paper:

Do leave your comments and ask if you have questions or any suggestions. :3

[FOOD TRIP ADVENTURES] Cheap beef serving for a Yakiniku Set [ANGUS BEEF}? I say not bad! and that's for a lot of REASONS!

Earlier this morning I visited SM Pampanga for a special task. After my all so long journey and accomplishing my tiring and long awaited quest, my gut tells me only one thing and it is food! Yep! and since I am fond of Japanese Cuisine I usually look for restaurants with reasonable taste and price with that kind of menu on their set.

I always eat at the fast food chain part on SM Pampanga for some simple reasons:

1.) There is a Japanese Cuisine food booth that sells a reasonable Japanese food.
2.) The food they serve has a reasonable taste and I recommend you trying it if you are in to a new kind of taste in Japanese Cuisine.
3.) The price is well reasonable for some servings, well it's somehow cheaper if you will compare it to an authentic one.

But I suggest you try, buy and taste the food first these things are just my reasons anyway.

I have always ordered 'Tori Teriyaki' on their menu that will cost you a P130 (yep a hundred and thirty pesos), and sometimes I mix some 'Salmon Onigiri' on the meal which is worth P55 (just fifty five pesos for a rice ball with salmon tuna inside) one thing I liked about the Onigiri is that the seaweed paper is very taste and good enough as a days meal. Although whenever I try to eat with this meals I always forgot to take a picture or bring my hand camera.

This time I bought my handy D3300 and took some pictures, but the order is somewhat different. This time  I really wanted to try their Yakiniku Set [Angus Beef] on their menu that will cost you a P145 (one hundred forty five pesos for some beef strips but I can say that it is good beef). Every meal on their menu comes with a rice and always comes with a miso soup so its quite a meal for a budget of P150 (one hundred fifty peso budget for a Japanese meal is reasonable for me).

Want to eat Japanese Cuisine on a food-court with a reasonable price? Don Don Tei is there for a lot of REASONS!!! I'd say try their no.4 Yakiniku Set for a price of P145 you'll get a good miso soup and few veggies on it and I'll let you be the judge (by the way the drinks are not included).

I haven't really took a picture of their stall there (and didn't even try to take a good shot for the food because I really am hungry that time so I couldn't wait to eat.), but maybe I'd ask them first for permission by the next time I'll order another set of meal that I can take a picture and make a blog on it. Don't forget to eat the veggies! IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!

[ONLINE GAME] Playing SDGO (SD Gundam Online) SEA (SouthEastAsia) server.

SDGO Sea is introduced to me by my friend Chris, since we both are "Gundam" fans and we love to talk about em and see em in action, he recommended this game back around December 2012. I started playing it on the 31th of December right on welcoming the New Year of 2013.

I was still playing on my old laptop back then (while drinking a little T-ICE and a serving of Sushi). One of my first A-rank units on this game was Altron Gundam. SDGO [SD Gundam Online] SEA server is somewhat a fast phased FPS (first person shooter) game that I could say, it has most of the balanced factors I've been looking for in a game back then. In this game you cannot just simply over power anyone else with just cashing out anything from the store, to play this game and enjoy it you really need to be skillful in your controls of your character (the gundam units).

Well the character IS your GUNDAM, in this game you can collect different types of unit in order to form a more powerful one. But just as I have said earlier even if you can have a powerful unit if you do not know how to play it or play it with your team (yes there are mode where it is a team battle), you cannot successfully bring out the full potential of your unit (you might end up getting trash talked by most players which is pretty common on an online game) and lower rank units can beat the oil out of your high end unit on the battlefield.

Since I am a Wing Zero EW (Endless Waltz) fan, this unit was the first one I aimed to build. My first build for a strong S-rank unit, Yes you read it correctly there are ranks among the gundam units the higher the rank the better the specs and the stronger they can kick the living out of you and your enemies on the war zone.

The reason why I told you that this game back then was the most balanced out game I have ever played is that its game system gives the player different type of Gundam units  and they were divided into three, A rock type usually a melee type a scissor type the fast and versatile quick shooting and slashing type and the paper type mostly long range and sniper type units. Obviously rock beats scissor, scissor beats paper and paper beats rock and that is how high and low the damage  were determined. It gave me more reason to collect more powerful units until I reached this garage of mine.

This was a version of the game that was updated around August or September (as far as I can remember) I repainted all of my best battle units, achieved SS ranks and even bought garage unit extension because I really like building and collecting units from all rank. This game can give you the opportunity of beating your opponents half to death with you just using lower ranking unit like C B and A and with your enemies spamming their flaming S-ranks around the battle field. With proper tactics, control and movements it is doable.

I was really a sniper type kind of guy in every FPS game I've played, so most of my units have long range shooting capacity (I do not do well on melee types in here, Chris always beats me on that field) after a few loses to some of the agile type of units I started collecting those fast units that enable me to get the really quick and range type like the 00 QAN(T) from Gundam 00 series. It's fast, have range weapons and can run quickly unlike my old WZC (Wing Zero Custom).

There were also events that you can join and when you accomplish some of the quest involved, the management (the host of the game which is Cherry Credits) back then will give you rewards if you meet the right requirements. Most of these rewards are rare units that cannot be found or build on the regular capsule machine where you have to spend points you earn just to randomly get a unit that you may or may not need.

Then suddenly a news broke out that the game host (which is Cherry Credits, I really started hating them back then) no longer can support the game due to I do not know what their real reason is (because they have lots of reasons back then), they decided to close the SEA Server for SDGO and the game just stopped working around February (I think and am really not sure, what I am sure is it did not last until June of 2015) of 2015. These are most of the images that I still have from back then, maybe am gonna take some feels trip in looking for more of the pictures on my facebook account and reminisce the good playing days.

[FOOD TRIP ADVENTURES] The Mighty Ton Challenge at Casa Verde

Me and my friends decided to take on the Mighty Ton Challenge at Casa Verde over at U.P. Town Center. Me and my girlfriend decided that it would be little old me and my friend Chris' birthday celebration. So before the day we went there, We've decided to invite him over the day before (which is Friday night because I still have work that day) so we can waltz in the restaurant as early as we can, We were informed that the restaurant opens around 11 A.M every Saturdays and we heard that based on other reviews that it always gets crowded during and after lunch time.

We rode a taxi from Newyork Cubao to Katipunan Ave as early as 10 A.M and got there around 10:30 A.M thank God there was no heavy traffic back then. Casa Verde is located at the back end of U.P Town Center 2nd floor, from the escalator at the front just walk straight up and turn left and you'll see the big sign round green sign of "CASA VERDE"(we totally forgot to take pictures of the outside due to our excitement and hunger, we didn't eat breakfast before going there).

We got inside the restaurant after a few minutes of waiting and right away, we ordered what we came for our quest for that day "THE MIGHTY TON" burger! While waiting we decided to take a few snaps inside with our phone cameras and came up with these:

Casa Verde U.P. Town Center Around the Broadway table

Guests and Waiters over at Casa Verde U.P. Town Center
When we got inside the restaurant people after us started to pile up as the review says. Most of our shots here were a little awkward (nahihiya pa) at the same time because people were actually looking at us whenever we pull off our phone cameras of the table and started the point and shoot habit of every person who likes to take pictures with a phone camera on a new place will do.

After a few minutes of waiting around our challenge arrived. The infamous Mighty Ton was served right in front of us and we're all struck by how huge the actual thing is compared when you are looking at it on pictures. We got a little crazy on taking photos due to our hunger and yes its size will make you go crazy.

A 12-inch for its bun a kilo of their so called "USDA tenderloin patty" (which the grease is overflowing from the buns) and with lots, and I mean LOTS and LOTS of bacon filling, and according to the menu the cheese is American (yeah American cheese), also the burger has lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom and onions paired with big cuts of potato fries. Yep Fries! you can choose from barbecue, sour cream or cheese as its dip (we picked sour cream).

The moment we saw the burger we already identified the trap parts of the serving, we always looked for what to eat first in every eating challenge we take on and the first ones is the Fries, then the huge chunk overwhelming Bun.

The Mighty Ton Serving size makes you go crazy

The Mighty Ton Serving size with fries

We decided to have it sliced when served so we could eat the whole thing, we have the waiters slice it up in six parts, two for each of us to finish everything. When we measured the whole thing with our hands we just really have to take our time looking at it thinking how in the world are we gonna fit all of it first in our mouths second in our guts. I think we wasted about more than three or more minutes arguing what in the world are we getting ourselves this time. One slice is almost equal of the plate we have on our table.

The Mighty Ton Serving size

After a fierce battle of stuffing all of the calories of our first slice, (into our mouths down to our belly), here was his (Chris) reaction after almost finishing one slice (we really looked like him so no need to see our faces). For a price of P888 the meal was actually worth it (drinks/ beverages not included).
